Had an amazing dinner at Shampan last night. Our server, Shah, was so friendly and helpful, steering us towards perfect selections for our meal. Honestly, one of the best curries we’ve had in quite a while. Plus, it was our anniversary and we were surprised by a complimentary dessert. A lovely and memorable touch!

Wow. Food superb, service superb and a full and bust restaurant at 7.00 on a Sunday night. Definitely worth a revisit. Sunday night set menu is superb value and one of the best curry meals we've ever had. 5 star plus.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants we have dined in in the UK. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The team of staff were exemplary - well dressed, professional, courteous and friendly. Inside it's a nice modern design with varying dining areas. We opted for the banquet meal and I have to say each course was pretty much perfect. The timing of courses was flawless - quick to clear the table and next course served straight away, this was very impressive. I was just gutted we didn't manage to finish it all. It can be a bit tricky parking if you're driving here but I just parked down a side road which was only a couple of minutes walk away - the sea front is only 5 minutes stroll away. The Malabar IPA on draught was one of the nicest IPA's I've had, I'm going to have to see if I can get it in the shops. Looking forward to our next visit! Update 13/7/23 - again, as previous, food, venue and staff all excellent!

First impression is that this restaurant is quite sizeable, nestling between two other smaller Indian restaurants (not afraid to compete). Inside the seating is well spaced, with a number of alcove tables available. Picture windows allow plenty of natural light to filter in and from the seats close to these windows you can see sea views. Many decorations embellish the interior making for a very relaxed ambience. Plenty of choices on the menu and a section for traditional style curry. For starters we had Papadoms followed by Onion Bahji and Aloo Pattice, which we can thoroughly recommend. Mains ordered were Vegetable Byriami, Lamb Shampan Handi and Chicken Shampan Handi (see photos) which are both very spicy and served on the bone with plenty of curry. One in our party eats only gluten free dishes and they found it easy to choose as well as receiving some guidance from the waiter. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and would eat here again. The restaurant has also won some awards.. Overall we enjoyed the food

Lovely! Had a midweek meal here recently and the staff were great! Courses were served in good time given there was 10 in our party. Onion bhaji starters are super filling and lamb shashlik was perfect. They have a nice bar area upstairs too for pre dinner drinks. Highly recommend! Thursday special menu is such great value.

If you are in the North Shields area and fancy an Indian meal, don't go anywhere else. This place is top notch - everything was great from the moment we walked through the doors

We made a last minute decision to get a takeaway from Shampan and were delighted with it. Food was delicious, good portions, great price and the service (even for just a takeaway) was excellent.

As soon as you walk in there is a lovely atmosphere, the resteraunt itself has a lovely feel to it and the lovely smells instantly hit you. The tables aren't too close together so you don't feel packed in. The staff are great, really attentive and friendly. The food is brilliant, presented beautifully and so tasty. I can't find a fault with the place, cocktails on offer as well 4 for 25 quid and they were lovely. Would definitely recommend. The prices are pretty standard, not too steep, the two of us had cocktails starters and mains and it came in at around 80. We will be going back.
